Detailed Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel lobby at the scheduled time (the guide will confirm the exact time via phone/WeChat one day before the tour). A professional local guide and private vehicle will accompany you throughout the day for a smooth journey.

Stop 1: Longmenhao Old Street

First, we head to Longmenhao Old Street—one of Chongqing’s best-preserved historical streets. Built along the Yangtze River, it features a mix of Chinese and Western architecture from the 19th century (when Chongqing was an open port). Walk on the ancient stone paths, admire the well-preserved old buildings, and enjoy the view of the Yangtze River Cableway gliding across the river. The guide will share stories of how this street once served as a hub for foreigners and local merchants.

Stop 2: Chongqing Great Hall of the People

Next, we travel to Chongqing’s most famous landmark—the Great Hall of the People. This grand building mimics ancient Chinese palace architecture, with red walls, yellow tiles, and curved eaves. It’s not only a cultural symbol of Chongqing but also a masterpiece of traditional Chinese design blended with modern functions. You’ll take photos at the best spots and learn from the guide about its construction history and unique architectural details.

Stop 3: Zhongshan Fourth Road

Then we walk to Zhongshan Fourth Road, known as "Chongqing’s Most Beautiful Street". Lined with tall banyan trees and well-preserved Republic of China-era buildings, this street carries rich historical memories. We’ll pass by Zhou Enlai’s Former Residence and Guiyuan Mansion—places that witnessed important historical events. The guide will share interesting stories about the street’s past, letting you feel the nostalgic atmosphere of old Chongqing.

Stop 4: Liziba Light Rail Through Building

After lunch (self-paid, the guide will recommend authentic local restaurants nearby), we visit Chongqing’s most viral attraction—Liziba Light Rail Through Building. As the first station in China built within a residential building, the light rail passes through the 6th-7th floors of the apartment building, creating a shocking "train in the building" scene. You’ll stand on the special viewing platform to take photos/videos, and the guide will explain the creative design behind this unique infrastructure.

Stop 5: Ciqikou Ancient Town

Next, we drive to Ciqikou Ancient Town—a thousand-year-old town nestled between mountains and rivers. This is the best place to experience Chongqing’s local life: walk on the winding stone roads, smell the fragrance of local snacks (like Chen Mahua fried dough twists and spicy tofu), and visit old teahouses where you can watch Sichuan Opera (optional). You’ll have free time to explore the town at your own pace, with the guide specifying the meeting time and location.

Stop 6: Shibati Traditional Style Area

Finally, we go to Shibati Traditional Style Area—the "memory of old Chongqing". This area preserves the classic mountain city layout: steep stone steps, stilted buildings, and air-raid shelters turned into creative spaces. It’s also a filming location for the famous movie The Ferryman. You’ll climb the stone steps, wander through the traditional lanes, and enjoy a panoramic view of Chongqing’s layered buildings from the viewing platform.

At the end of the tour, we’ll send you back to your hotel safely.

Do I need a visa to participate in your tours?

Most foreign nationals require a visa to enter China. However, recent visa-exemption and 144-hour transit policies apply to several countries. We provide all the necessary itinerary documentation, such as hotel confirmations and official letters, to seamlessly support your visa application process.

How should I handle money and payments during the trip?

China operates as a highly cashless society. While major hotels accept international credit cards, standard daily transactions are handled via mobile devices. We recommend downloading Alipay or WeChat Pay and linking your international credit card prior to arrival for seamless payments.

How flexible are the daily itineraries?

Our private tours are structured to optimize your time at major historical and cultural sites, but they are not rigidly locked. Because you are traveling with a private guide, reasonable on-the-ground adjustments can be made to accommodate your pacing, interests, and schedule preferences each day.
