Drive to Dazu & Visit Changzhou Ancient TownTake a 1.5-hour drive to Dazu County → Arrive at Dazu Changzhou Ancient Town:
It is an ancient-style town built based on the Changzhou City of the Tang and Song Dynasties. The architecture is elegant, restoring the bustling street scene of ancient Changzhou. There are folk culture exhibition areas and characteristic commercial blocks. You can experience the lively atmosphere of ancient markets, feel the integration of Bayu folk culture and Tang-Song history, taste local specialties of Dazu (such as Dingjiapo Potato and Sanqu Jelly), and encounter intangible cultural heritage performances or Tang-Song cultural parades. -
Transfer to Baodingshan Rock CarvingsAfter visiting Dazu Changzhou Ancient Town, we will drive about 20 minutes to Dazu Baodingshan Rock Carvings:
It is a World Cultural Heritage site and an outstanding representative of late Chinese grotto art, focusing on Buddhist-themed carvings with exquisite craftsmanship and rich content. Among them, the Thousand-Hand Guanyin with 1007 hands in different postures and the world's largest stone-carved half-length reclining Buddha (Sakyamuni's Nirvana) are extremely stunning. Carvings like "The Oxherding Scene" and "The Six Realms of Samsara" have both artistic value and cultural connotations. It is known as "Pay homage to Emei in the morning and Baoding in the afternoon". A professional guide will explain the history and religious stories behind the carvings throughout the tour. -
Hotel Drop-offAfter the tour, we will gather and drive back to the hotel in downtown Chongqing, ending the trip.
